Two vehicle wreck on 377 North just inside the city limits.

One more from last night

Here is one more shot I found in last night's batch. I'm taking an average of about 150 shots at each fire (and these haven't even been major fires yet) so it takes a while to get them all sorted.

12/10/06 - 11:08 p.m. - Wreck/Vehicle Fire

Let this be a lesson to any other idiots with lowered trucks who want to drag race. It doesn't always end with a winner.

And let's not even get into the stupidity of shooting sparks out the back of your truck with the dry, windy conditions we have right now.

12/10/06 - 12:05 a.m. - Grass Fire

Why are there no pictures of this fire?

When the call came in just after midnight, I was sleeping comfortably. It was a small grass fire on 281, a few miles outside of town. The normal part of my brain said "stay in bed, they'll have it out before you get there." The macho part of my brain, who thinks it's cool to chase fires after midnight said "go for it anyway, you can make it and probably get a great photo."

They pulled away from the scene about a minute before I arrived. So now you don't even get mop-up pictures, and I don't get enough sleep.

You know what? The macho part of my brain is an idiot and should just shut up and go back to sleep from now on.

12/9/06 - 12:55 p.m. - Grass fire

A grass fire sparked by welding just outside of Bluff Dale. Oddly enough, I was in Bluff Dale when this happened, but still didn't make it in time so see flames. Just a lot of smoke. The owner was very grateful for the quick response.

12/7/06 - 8:25 p.m. - Barn fire

There was once a pig who lived in a barn on Hwy 914 just outside Stephenville. His barn was warmed by a heat lamp.

Now there's just a cold pig and no barn. Heat lamp 1. Barn 0.

12/5/06 - 10:15 p.m. - Mobile home fire

Didn't make it in time for the fire. Just the 44 degree cold and lots of lights. The home was on CR392 off Highway 8 between Stephenville and Lingleville.
